To Banish or Not to Banish

A good place to be banished would be one the shore surrounding Hudson Bay. There are remote parts that are covered with bushes, growing among moss and grass. This would be a good place because there are streams with fresh drinking water, and plenty of different species of animals for food. You would not be bothered with civilization because there are many remote parts around the Bay. The weather is not very friendly, ice covers the bay and starts to melt around April or May and winds can get up to 150/km an hour. Overall it would be a good place to be banished.

I think that a young offender would much rather go to a detention center or jail, because there they would get taken care of. Also, the legal system probably wouldn't let someone so young go out into the wild unless they had someone with them full-time. It could be dangerous. They wouldn't want to be banished either, away from civilization and from family and friends. That is probably why there hasn't been a case of banishment in Canada yet.

I have mixed feelings about banishment. It would depend on the offender and what there crime was. It's good if someone like Cole needed to get away from civilization and learn how to control his anger. It wouldn't be good if the offender didn't want to go and got forced to, they may commit suicide. Everything would depend on what the offender wants, the sentence, and the crime.
